The Elusive Miss Lou: The Story Behind the Frames That Turn Heads

There’s something magical about eyewear that tells a story — before you even say a word.

That’s why I fell in love with The Elusive Miss Lou. Not just because the frames are bold, beautiful and bursting with personality (although yes, they are 💁♀️), but because of the incredible family story behind them.

Let me introduce you to Teiger Sceats — the designer behind The Elusive Miss Lou. He’s part of a family that’s been shaping the optical world for generations. It started with his grandfather Filmer, an optometrist and WWII medical officer, and continued with his father Jonathan, who went on to become one of Australia’s top eyewear designers and earned a spot in the Australian Design Hall of Fame. (No small feat, right?!)

Together with his mum Louise — a creative powerhouse in her own right — and his brother Jasper, they built something extraordinary. When Louise was diagnosed with stage four breast cancer, she and Teiger made a brave decision: to create something joyful. Something full of colour. Something different. The Elusive Miss Lou was born from that spirit — and you can feel it in every frame.

So yes, it’s a business… but it’s also a legacy, a love letter, and a celebration of individuality.

And the frames? Ohhh the frames.

The Elusive Miss Lou collection is all about vibrant colour tones, unexpected shapes, and character in every angle. They’re playful but refined, expressive but wearable — and no two feel the same. I love them because they let my clients show their personality without saying a word. Whether you’re drawn to rich tones or curious shapes, these are frames that stand out for all the right reasons.

If you’re looking for eyewear that’s full of soul, you might just be a Miss Lou too.
